To enhance the learning opportunities for Taylor School District students through the recruitment, training and sustainment of a network of volunteers.
By the end of the third grade, all students attending Taylor Public Schools will read at or above grade level. A child's reading level at third grade is a strong predictor of high school graduation and future success.
There are many ways to help out the Taylor Reading Corps:
Volunteer: The TRC is looking for volunteers to tutor Preschool and Kindergarten students. The tutors will read with the students and engage in other literacy activities. To volunteer please fill out the form here.
Ready Reader: This is a position for people who want to work one on one with students but can not commit to the once a week obligation. Ready Readers step in and substitute for volunteers when the need arises. Fill out a form to volunteer and specify Ready Reader
Donations: Your generous monetary donation is the best local investment in helping the community and will help support our young readers.
In-Kind Donations: The Taylor Reading Corps also accepts in-kind donations. We are always looking for gently used children's books.
